Just a quick note with some random thoughts as we get close to the end of Week 1 of the Fitness Challenge.
- Started Monday with a 30 min. run on the treadmill
- Tuesday was a 1 hour training session where I focused on chest, some balance exercises and boxing (I sparred with my trainer)
- Wednesday - nothing, unless walking from MUNI to the office counts
- Overall, I've had a rough week - early morning conference calls with India and interrupted sleep. Headaches have been increasing in frequency and intensity. I've had them for years, but they come and go as my stress level waxes and wanes. Seeing an acupuncturist tonight after work - hopefully will get some relief.
- Will run 30 mins on the treadmill today
- Meeting my trainer again on Saturday at 10:30 AM for an hour session
- My nutrition has been good - lots of chicken, brown rice, veggies. I love coffee, though - anyone have any thoughts on how this might negatively impact my fitness goals? I drink about 2 cups a day - I usually go for the low-fat or non-fat milk.
- Sorry to hear about the migraines and sleep challenges. I am curious to hear what your accupuncturist would say about diet and its potential impact upon migraines.
ReplyDelete- I am envious of your exercise routines. It sounds like you are going to the gym at least 4 times this week. Not bad. It is important to rest muscle groups too. When I was making more time to work out, I also felt like it was most sustainable as long as I was enjoying myself. If you end up beating up yourself about missed workouts or it being not enough, in the long run that is not so enjoyable. Take this all with a grain of salt because from what I can tell you have been sustainable with working out for years, so I am sure you have some insight for us all.
- Coffee...some people take caffeine supplements to enhance workouts. A nutritionist I worked with said there is nothing wrong with Coffee itself, it is all the stuff we add in that causes the problem. Sugar and cream baby. Sounds like you are choosing healthy options and still partaking in things you enjoy (that is important too). There are articles and studies indicating coffee being healthy and unhealthy...Just keep it in moderation. I say go for it and enjoy.
